As an accomplished executive with a proven track record of building, motivating, mentoring, and coaching multi-disciplinary teams, Scott Thompson has consistently been able to lead teams to achieve significant business outcomes within aggressive timeframes.

As Founder and Managing Partner of DuraBante, a strategic staffing and management consulting firm serving Fortune 500 and government clients, Scott is valued as a leader and change agent with the ability to drive large-scale business transformation within both traditional and matrix organizations.

Scott has broad operational business experience at the VP and C-Levels for Fortune 500 and governmental entities. He also has 22 years of military experience including command and post-9/11 mobilization, retiring as a field-grade officer. Through all of these experiences, he showed himself to be a highly adaptable turn-around specialist with demonstrated skills to drive clarity out of ambiguity.

Accomplishments & Skill Sets:

Scott has led multiple Fortune 500 (GE, Constellation Energy, and Tennessee Valley Authority), Government (DoD, NGB, MDARNG), and international (PURAC, ENMAX of Canada) organizations through strategic planning, process, productivity and continuous improvement efforts using proven methodologies resulting in millions of hard dollar as well as cost avoidance savings.

His demonstrated aptitude to recognize and develop leadership talent was shown as he mentored and coached nine individuals resulting in seven promotions and two placements into lateral leadership development programs.

Organizational clients have relied upon his skills to lead multiple turnaround situations. As an Army officer, he was assigned to command an underperforming unit and within one year the unit was awarded a Superior Unit Commendation for exceeding all standards in ten key performance indicators.

As an expert in the tenets of continuous improvement, he has led and mentored over 50 projects including a program to deliver year-one benefits of $12M (4:1 ROI), which contributed three cents to 2003 EPS growth and exceeded program financial objectives by two years. He has also led a team that developed an enterprise-wide flexible and scalable post-merger integration framework for a Fortune 200 company He led an Order to Remittance improvement effort for a $1.2B North American business; This team’s goal was to evaluate the SAP ERP system for improvement opportunities that would drive operational as well as financial benefits.

As a Six Sigma Black Belt, Scott was architect and leader for a enterprise-wide Six Sigma deployment for an Fortune 200 company with the principal objective of refocusing the organization on business process improvement as one of several strategic EPS drivers of growth. He utilized his strong facilitative skills to lead over 100 Kaizen events with significant productivity, process, organizational and cost improvements.

Scott is an experienced strategic planner, utilizing principles gained through both corporate experience and his military background. He has conducted multiple strategic planning sessions for Fortune 500 companies and governmental agencies, and led multiple large project initiatives to tight deadlines and schedules resulting in significant operational improvement both domestically as well as internationally. He has successfully led several global projects with complex implementation requirements to tight timelines and budgets, and also assisted in the divestiture of six Power Generation facilities with an estimated transaction worth of $1.3B.

He gained his Master of Business Administration degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute’s Lally School of Business Technology, and also has a Bachelor of Science Degree from Castleton State College. He completed numerous officer professional education courses in the United States Army following his commissioning at the Empire State Military Academy.

He has earned numerous awards and commendations throughout his career. An active member of Rotary International, he is a Paul Harris Fellow, and has served as a District Secretary, President, Vice President and Secretary. In the Army, he won the Major General O’Hare Leadership Award and New York Guard Association Leadership Award. He also was awarded numerous state and federal decorations including the Meritorious Service Medal, the Army Commendation Medal with Bronze Oak Leaf Cluster, the Army Achievement Medal with Bronze Oak Leaf Cluster, the State of Maryland Distinguished Service Cross, the State of Maryland Meritorious Service Medal, the New York Commendation Medal, the Maryland Outstanding Unit Award, and multiple military service awards.

Michael McLaughlin is a 22-year veteran of a Fortune 100 energy products and services supplier, where he gained a reputation as a solid finance professional. His skill sets cover a range of financial focus areas including strategic planning and communication, financial analysis and program management, governmental regulation compliance, and financial information systems.

Prior to working in the power industry as a finance professional, he spent several years working in environmental compliance at Dynamac Corporation. Mr. McLaughlin earned his BS in Chemistry from Penn State, and an MBA with a concentration in Finance from the University of Baltimore. He also earned certifications in Financial Management and Executive Leadership from Cornell University.

Dave's experience includes 30 years in human capital and organization development consulting. Interspersed with his consulting, Dave also has more than 20 years experience as a line manager with responsibility for up to 1200 employees. Dave brings a perspective developed in a wide variety of organizations including energy, healthcare, government, medical research, financial services, logistics, education, and the military.

He completed a 26-year career in the U.S. Army, directed the organization development function for a regional utility, managed the development and delivery of leadership programs for a Fortune 125 company, managed sales and technical training at a financial institution, delivered diversity and performance management training at various organizations, and is the founder of Jovid Consulting Services. Dave earned his M.A. in Human Resource Development from Webster University and a B.S. in Psychology from State University of New York.

Mr. Carr is a senior business consultant, experienced systems integrator and has deep project management skills within numerous industries.

Mr. Carr has 20 years of experience in the design, build, implementation and support of systems ranging from large international ERP implementations at Fortune 100 companies to productivity tool rollouts in small office scenarios. His background in electronics, telecommunications, systems integration and business process redesign has given him a broad foundation of experience from which to draw when serving DuraBante clients. Mr. Carr holds a BS from the University of Maryland Baltimore County and MS and MBA from Johns Hopkins University.

Ray's work experience started with five years active military experience in Logistics Management and Computer Science followed by thirteen years of civilian service with the US Army in Logistics Management at the Watervliet Arsenal where he was responsible for all logistics at the Nations Cannon Production Facility. Ray served on a Joint Services team to evaluate and promote logistics initiatives to improve logistics throughout the Department of Defense (DoD). Following his civilian service to the DoD, Ray joined the Agility Forum, located at Lehigh University, Bethlehem, PA where he led the Small and Medium Enterprise initiatives for the Agility Forum as well as being the coordinator for Federal Funded Agility Projects for the Forum. Ray decided to devote full time to his consulting practice starting in 1996.

Ray's undergraduate degree is from Eastern Kentucky University and he holds a Masters in Business Administration from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Troy, NY.

Jay has 25 years of industry experience in engineering, maintenance consulting, systems implementation and training. He holds Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Michigan and an MBA from the University of Alabama. His combination of business, technical and systems expertise along with his hands-on skills as a trainer and change agent make him uniquely qualified to help companies achieve alignment and synergy between people, processes and systems – the key to realizing sustainable business benefit from an integrated maintenance solution.

In the past 15 years Mr. West has been a solution architect, consultant and trainer for 4 different maintenance solutions: IBM's Maximo, Revere's IMMPower, Ivara's EXP, and Oracle's eAM. He has a deep understanding of best practices and supporting data/systems for asset configuration control, preventive maintenance, asset reliability management in an industrial setting. His experience with IT infrastructure includes managing a technical team at Stonebridge Technologies that designed, built and managed large network operations centers, co-location facilities and data centers.

Mr. West is a recognized expert on Oracle eAM and other Oracle E-business Suite modules as they relate to Asset Management (Inventory, Procurement and Costing). While at Oracle he was the Global Solution Architect for the Oracle eAM product. In that role he traveled the world to train/explain/demonstrate how Oracle eAM and related modules support maintenance and materials management best practices and deliver business benefits. Since leaving Oracle he has spent the last 3 years helping companies model their infrastructure and equipment in Oracle eAM and set up proper maintenance and reliability protocols to maximize their uptime.
